The death of Tilmon Auffrey of Pré-d'En-Haut occurred at Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital Sunday following a lengthy illness. He was 81.

Born in Pré-d'En-Haut, he was a son of the late Thomas and Annie (Gautreau) Auffrey. A retired farmer, he attended the Pré-d'En-Haut Our Lady of the Annonciation Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Assumption Society.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Célina (LeBlanc) Auffrey, and one brother Ben Auffrey of Memramcook West.

The body was resting at Frenette's funeral home, Moncton. The Funeral service was held at the parish Roman Catholic Church here with Father Provost officiating. Rev. Hector Léger was in the sanctuary. Pallbearers were Alonzo Auffrey, Dr. Paul Auffrey, Aurèle Auffrey, Gérald LeBlanc, Alphonse Cormier and Eddie Gautreau. Burial was in the parish cemetery with Father Provost saying prayers at the grave. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Roman Catholic cemetery vault awaiting burial later in the spring in Pré-d'En-Haut.
